Goldenrod permits must be requested using the Visitor Parking module in CMS. Request access to the visitor parking this module in CMS by submitting a a CARS request for for authorization as a a “SAC_VPD_APPROVER” APPROVER” for your department. Then, read the the Visitor Parking User Guide for for instructions on how to submit a request.Goldenrod permits have the following distribution options:
Goldenrod Permit Options
- $4 Two-hour faculty/staff/student permit charged to a speedcode.
- $7 Daily faculty/staff/student permit charged to a speedcode.
- $15 Weekly faculty/staff/student permit charged to a speedcode.
- $0 Campus Business student permit (see below).
Goldenrod Permit Distribution Options
- Instruct your visitor to pick up at information booth 1Information Booth 1, 7:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
- Instruct your visitor to pick up at information booth 2Information Booth 2, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
- Instruct your visitor to pick up at the UTAPS office at Folsom Hall.Mail to any campus ZIP and distribute the permit , 7:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
- Pickup the permit and distribute yourself (hand out, snail mail, etc.).
Goldenrod permits have the following payment options:
- $4 Two-hour permit charged to a speedcode
- $7 Daily permit charged to a speedcode
- $15 weekly permit charged to a speedcode
- Waived-fee visitor permit with no charge (see criteria below)

Campus Business Permits
Campus Business permits are waived-fee student daily parking permits available to persons, not employed by the campus, visiting the campus for the purpose of transacting state business with the campus (as stated by Title 5, Article 7, Section 42201 of the California Code of Regulations).
Persons that require faculty/staff parking may utilize the 'Scratcher' or 'Goldenrod' faculty/staff permit options.
Eligible Persons
- Members of a University Board
- Persons who have agreed, at the University’s invitation, to serve as a board member will receive a complimentary event parking permit. Submit an AUE Event Parking Request Form to provide this permit to your board member.
- Federal, State and Local Political Representatives
- Political representatives conducting state business on the campus are eligible for a campus business permit.
- Guest Speakers
- Persons invited by faculty to speak in their classroom are eligible for a campus business permit.
- Business Meeting
- Persons invited by staff to attend a University business meeting are eligible for a campus business permit.
Requirements
- The request must be submitted in the CMS Visitor Parking module.
- The request must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance.
- The request must include their the persons full (first and last) name.
- The request must include a start and end time for their visit.
- The request must be for 3 days or less. Anyone visiting more than 3 days must purchase paid permits or apply for a volunteer permit. The visitor person is not employed by the campus and visiting the campus for the purpose of transacting state business with the campus.
- The person is not an enrolled Sac State student.The visitor is not a Sac State faculty or staff (active or retired).
- The visitor is not compensated in any way for their time on campus.
- The visitor is not a contractor, consultant, or vendor.
- The visitor is not attending a class, training, workshop, conference, or camp.
Anyone not meeting all the criteria above must pay parking fees. UTAPS may require official documentation proving the above criteria are met.
Examples of visitors who qualify for waived-fee visitor permits:
- Guest speakers participating in academic activities
- Sac State faculty/staff applicants scheduled for an interview
- Sac State faculty/staff employment orientation
- Representatives of the press visiting for Sac State media coverage
- Representatives of industry lending their expertise to Sac State
- Campus tours for potential Sac State students
- Active Sac State donors
